Strandberg Engineering is a lively but studious, fifteen person, structural engineering firm located in San Francisco. We have a love for beautiful architecture and great design, and want our work (whether visible or not) to have the same standards. Our work includes the design, analysis, and preparation of construction documents for residential, commercial, and mixed use buildings. We work with a diverse set of architects, contractors, and building professionals from design through construction.

Strandberg Engineering is currently seeking Project Structural Engineers, and Staff Structural Engineers.

–PROJECT STRUCTURAL ENGINEER–

Qualifications:
· 1-5 years of structural engineering experience
· Knowledge of mechanics of materials, timber, reinforced concrete, and steel design
· Proficient in AutoCAD, RISA & MS Office
· Experience in Revit is preferred
· Experience in SAFE, ETABS, and Enercalc is a plus
· Able to work independently on projects with limited guidance
· Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time

Responsibilities:
· Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
· Prepare structural analysis and design calculations
· Proactively communicate project status
· Assist other engineers in any tasks required to complete a project
· Maintain organization of project-related materials including, calculations, and drawings
· Conduct computer analysis and modeling
· Obtain supervision on all project-related tasks, deliverables and communications
· Propose solutions for engineering problems and methods of analysis
· Submit deliverables according to project schedule and deadlines
· Understand the project scope as outlined in contract and contract amendments
· Maintain quality control of the drawings and calculation
· Communicate and coordinate with Architect and other disciplines
· Manage construction administration including answering RFI’s, reviewing submittals and
attending site visits
· Understand the project as a whole and break into manageable small pieces
· Detail project and coordinate details with other disciplines
· Hand sketch plans and details to pass off for drafting
· Manage other engineers’ time spent on project
· Work with staff engineers to complete projects
· Train staff engineers

–STAFF STRUCTURAL ENGINEER–

Qualifications:
· BS or MS degree in Structural Engineering
· Have taken classes in mechanics of materials, timber, reinforced concrete and steel design
· Proficient in AutoCAD, RISA & MS Office
· Experience in Revit is preferred
· Experience in SAFE, ETABS, and Enercalc is a plus
