Scott Henderson

Scott was born and raised in Los Altos Hills, CA. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UCLA, and a master’s degree in design construction integration from Stanford University. After graduate school, Scott worked with Engineers for a Sustainable World in Indonesia on tsunami evacuation structures, and was part of EERI’s post-earthquake evaluation team following the magnitude 7.6 Mw 2009 West Sumatra earthquake.

Scott is a licensed structural engineer with a decade of diverse experience in San Francisco. His past new design projects have included multi-family housing, hospital buildings, sustainability-oriented education facilities, and high-end custom residences. He is a legacy LEED AP credentialed professional, and has worked on multiple LEED Platinum green building projects. Prior to joining Strandberg Engineering, he worked on the seismic evaluation and retrofit of mid-rise steel and concrete buildings using advanced nonlinear time-history analysis, with a special emphasis in pre-Northridge moment frame structures.

Outside of architecture and engineering, Scott enjoys riding, climbing, backpacking, and fly fishing in the great outdoors. He lives in the Central Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco with his wife Carly, and rides a Vespa to work and play.
