PROJECT ENGINEER

As a project engineer you should have:

  • Experience working with a structural design firm

  • Civil PE license 

  • Experience with timber, reinforced concrete, and steel design

  • Desire to continually learn and develop in the structural engineering field

You will work with others to develop structural plans, analyze structural models, develop construction plans, and provide structural solutions for field questions.

In addition to structural designer responsibilities:

  • Propose solutions for engineering problems and methods of analysis

  • Submit deliverables according to project schedule and deadlines

  • Understand the project scope as outlined in contract and contract amendments

  • Maintain quality control of the drawings and calculation

  • Communicate and coordinate with Architect and other disciplines

  • Manage construction administration including answering RFI’s, reviewing submittals and attending site visits

  • Understand the project as a whole and break into manageable small pieces

  • Detail project and coordinate details with other disciplines

  • Hand sketch plans and details to pass off for drafting

  • Manage other engineers’ time spent on project

  • Train and work with staff engineers to complete projects

The salary for this position with 2+ years of experience generally ranges between $90,000-$130,000. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including location, education level and candidate qualifications.
