Palo Alto Residence I
This project is a new residence located on a relatively flat lot in Palo Alto. Special consideration was give when designing the foundation to preserve the heritage oak tree at the front of the property. The main residence is one story and appears to float on battered, concrete wings at the floor while concrete feature walls ground the structure to the earth. Additional features include a second story in-law unit nestled in the bough of the heritage oak and a soaring, clerestory roof which brings light to the center of the living space.
