Justin Martinez
Justin moved from Southern California to Northern California to attend the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained his civil and structural Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Immediately after college, he took a detour and joined a small startup working as a web application developer in Emeryville but decided to go back to engineering after a few years.
Justin’s structural career began at Ficcadenti Waggoner and Castle Structural Engineers (FWC) in Concord, where he worked with primarily cold-formed steel framing for 8 years. He checked out Strandberg Engineering in mid-2023 and was immediately intrigued by the culture, projects, and sophistication of the company.
Justin is an avid outrigger canoe paddler with O Kalani in Alameda. During the racing season, he’s on the water training weekends and weeknights. Paddling has taken him to races and experiences in SoCal, Oregon, and Hawaii. Off the water, Justin is reading, making t-shirt designs, and tinkering with AI and programming.
