Brack Road
Brack Road is a simple but luxurious residence. The project begins with a long winding driveway lined with a feathered, corten retaining wall. The driveway leads to a hilltop residence nestled among a forest of oaks. Design challenges include analysis of the cantilevered concrete slab which gives the appearance of the residence floating above the landscape. Strandberg worked closely with Studio Vara and Spearhead to develop the architectural vision, resolve framing conflicts, and provide custom connections while maintaining ease of constructability. The result expresses the building structure with tall ceilings, exposed glulam beams, open partition screens, and full-height windows giving an open airy space blurring the transition between the interior and exterior.
