Desert House
A new, 4,000 square-foot, single family residence located 4,300 feet above sea level at Pinyon Crest, overlooking. Palm Desert. Wood and steel framing is used in combination to produce a thin roof line, and a mixture of wood and concrete shear walls work to resolve lateral forces. Special design considerations include snow load on the roof and the design of a 10 foot long cantilevered concrete floor slab adjacent to the edge of the pool.
