15th Street Residence
This existing two-unit residence was remodeled to convert an existing attic into habitable space. Seismic strengthening was provided in the upper unit via plywood shearwalls. Custom wood trusses and new ridge beams were utilized to vault the existing attic ceiling. Large dormers were utilized to gain additional ceiling height and habitable floor area. A custom wood stair and guardrail were designed to provide an architectural feature element at the core of the building.
