Curly's Cove
Curly’s cove was an old fisherman’s shack built around 1930 on the west side of highway 1, adjacent to protected wetlands in Bodega Bay. The existing structure had to be shifted off the wetlands and received a new drilled pier and grade beam foundation. Concrete beams and columns above grade lift the existing structure above the design base flood elevation. Requirements from the California Coastal Commission and other factors typical in marine environments were some challenges the team faced.
