Cristian Fernandez
Cristian was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and raised in Oakland, California. He earned his bachelor’s degree at San Francisco State University in civil engineering and his master’s degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in architectural engineering. During his time at Cal Poly, Cristian spent over one year researching, designing and testing a full-scale prototype for a heavy timber buckling-restrained brace.
Prior to obtaining his master’s degree, Cristian spent two years working for a custom residential structural engineering firm in Pleasanton. He has also worked closely with geotechnical engineers, general contractors, architects and carpenters.
Cristian’s hobbies include boxing, hiking and playing competitive soccer..
